You are now ready to add sound and video files to your course shell.

There are many ways to add media files to your course. Try adding video or audio files to your course shell by using two or three of the ways listed below. Review 3.6 Video and Sound Files if you need help. 

Add a video from YouTube.

    1. Go to your course shell and turn on edit mode.

    2. Press “Add an Activity or Resource” on the course page and select the Page resource.

    3. Name your page “My House Video”.

    4. In the content area, select the media icon.

    5. Copy and paste this URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twv2xu4DN1I  into the appropriate field and name the video “My house”.  Make sure the link is exactly the same and there are are no empty spaces after you paste the link name.

    6. Press “Insert Media”.

    7. Press “Save and display” to view your page with the video. 

Add a media file from your computer. 

    1. Go to your course shell and turn on edit mode.

    2. Press “Add an Activity or Resource” on the course page and select the Page resource.

    3. Name your page “Media file from my computer”.

    4. In the content area, select the media icon.

    5. Select the video or audio tab, depending on the type of file you are uploading from your computer.

    6. Press “Browse repositories”.

    7. Select “Choose File” and select a media file on your computer. Then press “Upload this file”.

    8. Click “Insert Media”.

    9. Press “Save and display” to view your page with the audio or video file.

Record a video or audio file. 

    1. Go to your course shell and turn on edit mode.

    2. Press “Add an Activity or Resource” on the course page and select the Page resource.

    3. Name your page “Welcome Class”.

    4. In the content area, select the record audio OR select the record video icon.

    5. Give permission for DD Courses to access your microphone and/or camera. 

    6. Record a short welcome message for your students and press “Stop Recording” when you are done speaking. 

    7. Press “Attach recording”.

    8. The recording will appear in the content area of the page. 

    9. Press “Save and display” to view your page with the audio or video recording.
